use 551 Stamp to visit Canada

Does anyone have experience to use 551 stamp to visit Canada?
Do I need a Canadian visa? or 551 stamp on passport is good enough to go Canada and come back to USA freely?
 
if you drive, you don't need canada visa, your i551 stamp is fine for you to enter canada and return back to us. not sure about canada visa if you travel by air tho
 
I think it might depend on your country of origin. I would check with Canadian embassy or consulate. Canada might have a list of countries whose citizens do require a canadian visa even if they have U.S. green cards.

It specifically says:

VISITOR VISA EXEMPTIONS

Persons lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence who are in possession of their alien registration card (Green card) or can provide other evidence of permanent residence.

So -- either flying in, or driving in, you are fine with just the stamp!
