I e-filed my AP on Oct '05th and got approval mail on Jan 04th. Received the Advance Parole today (01/12th). This advance parole expire date is 12/12/2007. What the hell is this? Because of this, I have postphoned my trip and finally didn't go at all. This AP's expire date should be 01/03/2007.

why?

If they would have sent me last month, I would have made a trip to India. Why did they put expiry date a month ago?

Read in the details provided.....your exp date is 12/12/2007 and not 2006. Did u put it as 12/12/2007 by mistake...

You're not getting my point. It looks like they approved my AP in December itself? Why didn't they send that time itself? If they really approved my AP on 01/04, then it should show expiry date either 01/03 or 01/04. Today only I got my AP, but it's already expired a month. I have it for 11 more months only.

So they posted a few days after approving (May be due to the holidays), and you lost a few days. But why the hell are you so pissed and why the hell did you cancel your trip ???? AP is valid and expires in December of 2007 (You want it to expire in 01/03/2008....and not 01/03/2007 as you stated).

I got the AP only on 12th and I have already canceled(Jan 1st week) the ticket. Now, my client said that they cannot approve my holidays. If they would have sent me last month, I would have gone to India. They delayed a lot, that's what my concern.
 
You planned very tight. AP wait time can be checked in Processing Times list. It runs 3 months.

I have no idea why a piece of paper printed on a color printer should be taking so long. May be one day they will have renewable and pre-paid APs and EADs you will be able to re-charge with a credit card online. Or, may be a single card "AOS sucker" with an annual fee. That would make life easieir.
