After undergrad in the USA in 2050 got my OPT.
I began my OPT in a 6 man establishment.
Employer filed for my H1b.
USCIS sent a letter asking for 'Evidence' for such a job
requirement. Reply was given..immediately.
This was in April 2005.
OPT got over.
I began my MBA in the meanwhile.
Suddenly in February 2007 my OPT employer informs me that
USCIS has approved of the evidence for H1b ...
The letter from USCIS says.....we have approved this 1129 petition for a non immigrant worker.....current processing times can be found ...etc, etc...
The job is since then filled up but the employer is in a position to
open a similar position for me in a few months time.
I have yet to go in for the interview et al.
How long a time is the approval valid. Is there a time window on this .
Also all things being equal and I am ready for the interview...can I ask for the interview in the USA instead of going to India and missing my MBA course time. Can there be a COS from F1 to H1 inside the USA due to the circumstance I am in as a student doing my MBA at present.
I am to graduate in late 2007.
I need your good advice to help me go ahead with the H1b andlook forward to the moderator and those who can help me with their experience and good advice.
With sincere regards,
God Bless us.
