I have been insisting my lawyer to get some status from USCIS on my I-485, this is what he got back this week.

"Your name check has been pending as of 6/15/07 (surely not 08), which is over 180 days. As your application priority date is current your case will be adjudicated for processing. The client should receive update within 120 days."

How can I get Name Check status? Can I push for it? Do you think I get approved/not approved decision in less than 120 days irrespective of Name check delay?

You can find out NC status through an infopass appointment, or through a phone call if you're lucky.
I believe they're using the NC memo (at least in TSC) to approve candidates if the NC has been pending for more than 180 days.
Call the customer service center and tell them that your case is outside normal processing time and open a service request. That might help. Also remind them about the new NC memo and that you are eligible for adjudication. I did that.
Also contact your senator and see if he can help. Most senators have staff handling immigrations issues. Tell them that you're a NC victim and you need help. They must be familiar with this by now.
As for the result of the case in 120 days, no one knows, including the USCIS.
