My dad, 20 years Permanent Resident and currently 60 years old. He applied for citizenship in 2008. He has 6 criminal convictions, 3 DUIs(93,95,02), 2 Possession of loaded firearms in public(79,95) and Domestic Abuse (83). He applied in 2008 but his case was lost in the shuffle, Now 2011, his case is moving again and he has a notice to appear for a Preliminary Interview. He was called in previously to USCIS for a random interview, and was told he could potentially be set for Removal proceedings, based on his criminal record. He had to re-do his fingerprints to verify/confirm his record/identity. What can he be looking at at this point. Removal, Denial of Citizenship. He applied after his completed 5 years of not having a criminal history.
