USCIS Pilot study - should or shouldn't

Today, I got a letter from USCIS requesting that I be one of the 6000 guinea pigs that the USCIS wants to test their new civics and language test on. They are calling it "pilot study". The deal is that I will be administered this new enhanced test (Interview May 21, 07, Boston) with my consent and the test results will be kept confidential and used to evaluate the test itself. IF I FAIL, it wouldn't count as a strike against me because I would be immediately (on the spot) eligible to request the good old test.

They have sent me the "new" 142 questions + a bunch of literature on vocabulary etc. I am thinking why not. I think I will go for it.

What do you guys think? Any conspiracy theories here?

I did it. It's really easy; not harder than the old one at all. Just study the questions they send you.

Why not.If you and your family are going to be part of this country.Should know background.Look at it this way when you kids ask you about this country you will already be prepared.:p

I wish I were that lucky!

Its actually a no-brainer .... why ????? Because you get an EXTRA attempt if (unlikely) you needed it .... one new test and two old test attempts. If you decline, you only get two shots, not three !!!!!!!

WaitMore- I am also from boston applying my N-400 next month.Could you tell me the dates when did you applied,FP dates...

Finally the first time I've heard someone given in option to take the new test. Sure like mentioned, you have 2 chances at it. Also you can be proud when you pass it that you were one of the very first people to have that new test after you become a citizen. Kind of like a little bragging right...

Waitmore ... one letter or two ??????

Waitmore, please let me know if this offer was in the interview letter itself or was it communicated in a second document? How did you find out about the 6000 test candidates? Thanks.

rwsh,

This information was sent to me in a separate packet. The letter says that the USCIS plans to conduct this test on 6000 candidates. I hope this answers your question.
