I think the USCIS updated the web page. Instead of saying that Processing with receipt date mm/dd/yyyy now its saying that the processing timeframe is 7 months.

The fact that the USCIS is processing applications files 7 months ago does not prove that in 7 months the USCIS will be processing applications filed today. The volume of applications files in July may slow down their processing.

^^But it says processing timeframes, and then says 7 months!!! But you are right it probably change throughout the next few months.

Just before changing to 7 months, it was saying processing date as January 12, 2007, before that Dec 12, 2006 and on and on . This date would move one month after every one month. From January 12, 2007 to now is seven months. So basically by putting seven months they dont have to change the date every month. So by the mid of September 2007, instead of seeing processing date of February 12, 2007 it will stay seven months.

My understanding for the "processing time" was that it is the timeframe in which your citizenship process gets completed...but recently i read in a post that an IO told that (for a DO with 7 months' processing time) the applicant should expect a correspondance from the DO for an interview on completion of or within 6 months after the finger prints are taken...which means that the actual interview would take place atleaset 5 wks after that letter:confused: .... so what exactly is a "processing time"?
