USCIS inconsistencies

I've been monitoring "quite a" few LIN numbers on USCIS online case status page. Most of my old LINs that I check are not approved (including mine). My RD is December 28, 1999 with ND of January 10, 2000. My LIN - LIN000705xxxx. However, 12th LIN number previous to mine is approved on August 4, 2004 (ND January 10, 2000). Most LIN prior to this one are not approved.

So much about USCIS claim that they process on first come first serve. Also if I can remember, there was one member (frombasra see this thread) whose date were after Nov. 16th. It looks like that USCIS started approving cases beyond Nov 16 to fill up 10,000 GC for this year. Maybe some asylees couldn't provide RFE on time and their cases will be approved in next year.

anyway ... just na observation. comments?

It depends on the efficiency of the case worker that works on your case. It also depends on how your paper work was handled and how careful you were in submitting all the documents. I think that if you applied through a lawyer you are more likely to have it on time but this is just a speculation. I have got my green card approved before many people with LIN numbers that had earlier dates than mine perhaps because my lawyer handled everything.

I totally agree

Shamshon, I think you are absolutely right. When I was ready to file for my I485, my lawyer told me that it will cost me about $1100 so I decided to do it myself. He sent me few notices and when I called him to let him know that I'm doing it myself. His comment was that it will take you a long time to get your green card and application will just get burried along with the hundreds of thousands of application.
Now I really regret not paying him because now I really think that if you have a good lawyer with some good connections, I think, I repeat, I think they can make a difference but it might be just mine and Shamshon's feeling,

well, I paid mine $500 for application (monthly installments). Everything I ever filled to USCIS I did through my lawyer. I just don't take any chances. If he wasn't there on my first asylum interview, I probably wouldn't won the case. Well, after October 1 it is my group, we will see if this was a correct assumption.
