USC.. Sponsoring spouse from oversea.

First off I would like to apologize if this is the wrong sub-forum to post on.

My question is, when I become a US citizent. How long would it take to bring my spouse into the united states? what are some of the difficulties i may face beside Financial Obligations? and last question. Would you recommend that we use a lawyer or it is possible to handle everything ourselves?

Please anyone who had gone through this sittuation please share your experiences.

It might take around a year. It is possible to handle everything yourselves, unless you have some unusual situation.
