USC Process

I am about to complete 5 yrs. and thinking of applying for citizenship. Can anyone elaborate the process and documentation I need to provide? What are the experiences during each step? During the interview, is the GC file and the new application opened and reviewed or is it only the USC application paperwork? What documents need to be taken to the interview? Thanks a bunch in advance for your replies.
