LOS ANGELES, May 6: The US Department of Homeland Security is in final stages of developing a new US Visitor and Immigrant Status Technology (VISIT) system that will effectively end the special registration process towards the end of this year, sources said.
The new system will use biometrics identifier, replacing the NSEER (Special Registration) system, and incorporates the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System).
