Can anyone tell me if USC living in the UK for more than 2 years have to file a US tax return along with their UK tax return?

Thanks

The longer you wait, the more trouble you will be in. The penalties and interest is accumulating, so I would get right to it.

Well shoot!!!!

I wrote the IRS a letter explaining why I havent filed... Hopefully they will go easy on me... I also asked them what I need to do and what forms I need and so forth....

I will let you know the outcome!

Thanks

You definitely need to file every year. I lived in Spain for six years and filed every year. You may have a problem since, ordinarily, you would get a tax exemption on the first $70,000 (I think, I left Spain in 1994 and have not kept up on the tax situation) of foreign earned income but I think you lose the exemption if you delay filing too long. I believe you need to file form 2555. You probably should speak to an accountant or tax attorney since you may be subject to severe fines and penalties.
