US police clearance

Hi,

My wife is in India now. She lived in US. She can not come to US due to personal reasons.I am planning to apply Candian GC. Does my wife needs FBI clearance as she lived in US. If yes, How can we get FBI clearance as she is not currently living here.

Any ideas pl.

You can write to FBI and request for 2-3 Blank FBI fingerprint cards, They will sent it to you, write them that you need it done for canada immigration, When they send you blank FBI Cards get your wife fingerprinted in India( the fingerprinting agency or Police officer who did the finger printing should sign it and seal the cards in envelop and stamp it) and then send it to them with USD 18 fees and with cover letter that you need it for Canada immigraton. But you need FBI clearence only if your wife was in US for more than 6 months.
