I recently became a US citizen and applied for US passport right away, expedited processing. I received it within 2 weeks, but my picture looks so washed out (like overexposed or too bright). The photo itself taken at a post office was ok. So I called Natl. hotline, even drove up 2 hrs to LA regnl PP agency. They said that while the pic does look too bright, with some effort the pic is identifiable. It;'s because i wore white/light color. They said if i choose to reapply I have to pay full fees of $156. They also said sometimes 'the book just gets printed that way'. They said I can travel with it no problems. Am i just being too paranoid.
I feel like having come all this way, the office inefficiency is frustrating.
(I understand people have seen way more frustration even getting to this point, that notwithstanding...)
At this point, I have done all I can. I think I will carry the original photo with my passport always in case I get held up with questions.
Any thoughts or similar experiences.
