US passport processing time

Hello All,

I was wondering how long does it take to get a US passport with the Routine Service ? How about Expedite Service? Is it a big difference between timeframe?

Judging for the extremely low traffic on passport related issues my guess is that passports are being issued pretty quickly these days, most likely well sooner than the passport agency published estimates. If you're not in a hurry I would save the extra money for expedited, and just use routine service. By the way, times might vary slightly across regions of the country, but my uneducated guess would be two weeks or less for expedited and three or four weeks for routine.

express mail both ways plus expedited processing takes no more than 6 days. I just got mine less than a week back:)
