Have things like these curbed 485 processing?

nice way to start the day. to read the words of some dick of a congressman, and scarily enough he is the chairman of congressional immigration reform.

my personal take on this is that like we have seen, there are N+1 of these bills that are 'moved' by a particular congressman. nothing happens. period. the rest of the argument is this own media guys view on how likely it is that this bill will be passed!

I think as a safety, one should get an EAD even if you are on H1-B!!

long-wait

I agree..

Big money from corporations need H1Bs..and they will ensure that H1Bs continue to be around..even election year politics are subservient to Big Money not to the votes of the people.

I remember long long ago..when India/Pak exploded the A-bombs, sactions were imposed and I was told by my collegues that all H1Bs will have to go home..next day they raised the H1 quota to 105K !

Never trust the media guys (believe me, I am saying it with experience, my wife was a reporter in India sometime back). All they want to do is "sensationalize"news, they get promoted/noticed/appreciated from their bosses.

TOI/REdiff and even NDTV is not immune to this sensationalization, why just the other day last week when CIA agreed that the 16 words were a mistake, did you know how NDTV reported it as headlines on their site and the news

"CIA agrees it was a mistake to attack Iraq"

So guys, as the others have said in this forum, these bills come and go, Sun/MS/Cisco and the IT biggies who wholeheartedly support H1b's will not be sitting duck to some dick on a congressman

:D
