US Green Card with TN Visa

Hi all,

I am currently on H1 B VISA in USA since four and half years, My employer is sponsoring me for my Green Card, I don't know how much time would it take to process Labor, I-140, I-485....

I am a resident of MICHIGAN.

After reading this forums, I would think definitely more than TWO and HALF YEARS...

My H1 is going to expire by Sept 2005., i.e. I will be completing all my 6 years of H1.

Additionally, I have applied for Canadian Immigration and I got my Permanent Resident visa few days back.

What are the alternatives, I should take, after my H1 expires.

a) Should I apply for H1 B extension for the 7th year?
or
b) Should I go to Canada and come again here on TN Visa?.

If I take TN Visa will it affect my greencard processing ?

Please Guide...

You are not eligible to get a TN visa unless you become a Canadian Citizen (which in your case is at least 3 years away).
If more than 1 year has passed after applying for your Labor certification, you can apply for extensions for H1 in1 year increments after your 6 years of H1 are up.
You should plan to have your Labor certification filed no later than Sept this year.
