US GC stamped, wants to visit canada

Hi,

My cousin has the US GC stamped, but don't have the plastic card yet.Is it safe to travel to canada on this stamp ?.She is planning to drive to canada from detroit.Is it true that, those near the border (when you drive), are not very familiar with this stamp (I-151 ?) and do not think of it as GC plastic card equivalent.

Any feedback or adivce is appreciated.

Should not be a problem. All the INS agents are familiar with the I551 stamp. It is same as the actual GC. I confirmed with the Canadian consulate and they said it was no problem.

QUESTION: Visiting Canada/Mexico on US GC

How long can a US GC holder stay in Canada on a single continous visit (1 week, 1 month, 3 months, etc), without obtaining a Canadian visitor visa and using just the US GC at the POE?

Also would appreciate if anyone can mention the same in respect with Mexico.
