US employer posted me outside- Do I require re-entry permit?

You cannot apply for re-entry permit while living abroad. You have to apply for SB-1 visa.

Doubt you can obtain SB-1. You abandoned your Green Card. Unless you can prove that such a long absence was totally beyond your control, you are not eligible for SB-1.

regarding SB-1,see the followoing site for detailed info'.the visa fee is hefty and if rejetced it is non-refundable. Be cautious.
