US Driving Licence for holder with GC

Hi,

I am currently studying to get my drivers licence in the US. I have driven for about 16 yrs in my own country.

Once I do the Driver's Knowledge Test and the Driver's Practice Test will I have to stay on a Provisional Licence for 24 months or can I automatically get a fully approved licence?
