Can someone help me about what documents to submit along with N400 ??

I have just 2 trips of 20 days each, no traffic tickets, filed taxes each year, completed 5 yrs residency..... basically a straight forward case

From what I read in the Guide to Naturalization, it says to submit N400 application, (2) photographs, copy of green card (front and back) and checks for $260 (application) and $50 (finger prints)

1. Is that all I need to submit?
2. Do both checks have to be made out to BCIS or one to FBI?
3. Can the checks be personal checks or cashier checks?

I'll be applying in Dallas.

Appreciate your help.

You don't need any other documents for your N-400 application. However, you don't need to write two checks. One check is ok. You can use a personal check, money order or cashiers check. Make the check payable to BCIS.

Same concern! Just to confirm:

This is the shortest INS package I've yet to complete:

Cover sheet (not needed, but its a list of contents)
Cashiers check for $310
N-400 completed
Photocopy front/back Greencard
Status Info letter from Selective Service
( i was here when I was 26 and under - but a foreign student at the time)
Set of Photos

Is it _really_ that simple!??

Yes, I think you got it all.
The check could also be a personal one. (no need to pay $8 for cashier's check) (at least that's what my bank charges me).

Personally, I think you should use personal check. When they receive it they put a case number on it. This way you have your case number if you you don't get the receipt notice.

Also, don't forget to make copies of everything for yourself before you send it.

Guineaping,
If you were on F1 during your 18th-26th birthdays, then shouldn't your answer be "NO" for question 33 ( selective service registration )? Because you fall into "lawful nonimmigrant " category, and in that case you don't need to provide any documention. Correct me if I am wrong.

anil2003 & Guineapig:

For your reference.

If you apply on the basis of marriage to USC, you need to send more things. Please check Form M-477 Document checklist.

Better-prepared application take less time for BCIS to process and speed general processing. I would suggest that you submit copies of all evidences and documents supporting each item of Form N-400, if posssible.

Foreign language documents must be translated. Translations must be certified by a competent translator and sworn to before a notary public.

Good luck.
