Here's the scenario:

1. US Citizen
2. Working for US Consulting Firm
3. Travels Often
4. Wants to move to/live in Vancouver

Given the scenario above, I have some questions:
1. Does the US Company need to pay the US Citizen in Canada?
2. What are BOTH the Canadian and US Tax issues involved?
3. What are the Canadian immigration issues?

Thanks,

- No, they can send the payment to your US account too.

- You will need to pay cdn taxes too. You need to get a tax consultant to sort out the issues and credits on your both tax returns.

3. What are the Canadian immigration issues?

You will need to have a work permit in Canada (most probably NAFTA work permit). This is because you will be working while living in Canada.
