US Citizen, working remotely for US company, would like to move to Canada

As the subject line says...I am a US citizen and work in IT for a US company, and my job is 100% telecommute. I can live anywhere, and I am interested in moving to Canada. Where in the world do I start? Here are some facts:

My husband and I would remain US citizens.
My husband would move with me, though he doesn't have a job lined up.
My company does have a Canadian subsidiary, though I would not be affiliated with it.

Some questions:

What kind of visa would I need? And since my husband would not necessarily be working, what kind would he need?
Would I pay both US and Canadian income tax?
Is this even wise?

Any light you could shed would be helpful, thanks.

-- You cannot just move to Canada without being transferred by your company to Canada for working. You need to apply for the Cdn PR status in order to move to Canada.

Would I pay both US and Canadian income tax?

-- At higher level - File Cdn taxes and get foreign tax credit on your US return. You might need a tax consultant depending on your individual tax situation.

Is this even wise?

-- Depends on your reason to move to Canada. What "quality of life" will you get there that you are not getting in the US?
