Like the title says US citizen filing I-130 for married sibling from Pakistan. Sibling's current name is different from her maiden name. The required documents to be attached to I-130 include her birth certificate and any proof of name change (marriage certificate, court order etc). My question is as follows:
1. In Pakistan, if the bride decides to take up husband's name, she applies for an updated National ID Card (NIC) showing proof of marriage. The marriage certificate/Nikkah Nama still contains her maiden name. When filling up the I-130 form, her current name has a different last name than her maiden name, what proof should I attach in support of her current/married name? I don't think attaching marriage certificate will be useful. Should I attach her current NIC card and maybe a letter explaining that it's being usbmitted in support of her current name.
I would appreciate your input. Thank you so much!
Best regards!
