US Citizen sponsoring Canadian Citizen wife -

We have married for four years . Finally i decided to sponsor my wife.. i tried living in canada .. It's tough and cold.

For Canadians , they can live in USA for 6 months on visitors visa. They just stamp on the passport with the date.

She is planning to stay with me from the date it was stamped.
Questions:-
1) Should i file I-130 with Adjustment of status or Consular processing (Toronto, canada ) ? Which is better ?

2) If i file with Adjustment of status , What should i enter in I-94 Column ? For canadian citizens, they don't give I-94 )

Thanks in advance.

If she is not in the US, she should not enter the US as a visitor with preconceived intention to immigrate on that trip. So she should do Consular Processing.

If she is already in the US, she can do Adjustment of Status. Check the I-94 website if she got an electronic I-94. If not, then just write something like "none - Canadian visitor".

Thanks for your reply and also the link for I-94.

If I prefer through consular processing, is the following documents/petition required.
1) I-130 , g325a for both petitioner and sponsorer will file all supporting documents

To my understanding, After I-130 approval only , I need to file I 864 , I 693?

Please correct me if I am wrong??

Yes, those are the documents you file.

After I-130 is approved, you wait for NVC and the consulate to contact you about what documents are needed.

I will attach the following supporting documents for I-130 Only .let me know if i miss anything .
1) Marriage certificate
2) Copy of U.S Passport & Naturalization certificate
3) Beneficiary Passport copies
4) Passport ( Petitioner & Beneficiary)
5) Photos from Year 2012-2016 ( Around 15 Photos)
6) Marriage Invitation
7) Affidavit from friends about Bona fide Marriage
8) $420 Fee

Please let me know if i need anymore supporting documents.

I'm assuming #4 is one passport photo for each of the petitioner and beneficiary.

You also need a G-325A for each of the petitioner and beneficiary.

#3 is not necessary but I guess it doesn't hurt.

#5,6,7 are okay but much more useful are statements from joint accounts, joint leases, evidence of putting each other as beneficiaries on various accounts, etc., i.e. evidence of financial intermingling.

Well, we have both had separate bank accounts in Canada . i lived with her for almost 2 years under same roof in canada for two years , then i only i moved back to USA. If i apply for a joint account now , it may a raise a red flag .. I will just apply without those financial intermingling . Thanks .

It's not a red flag. It's never too late to start. If you open one now, by the time of the interview it will have been open for a few months.

Do either of you have the other person listed on things like retirement accounts, life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, etc.?

Yes , health Insurance in canada -- Thro her employer i have . I have car insurance both of us together , life insurance too all in canada .. Nothing in U.S.A .

That's fine. Include anything that shows you guys put each other on various things. It doesn't matter what country those things are in.

Thanks , that's a good information. I will include those documents.

I will start the process to open joint account in Canada , Since I have Canadian PR it will easy.

Got the I-130 Receipt which starts with LIN.. When i tried online USCIS , It gives an error ?? Any reason ? In How many days it will show on Case status screen online ?
