When you became a us citizen, how did you do for your children under 14 years old? Can anyone post the procedure. My friend is a us citizen and she is applying for her us passport and her 2 kids. The kids have the green card now.
If the child qualifies one can obtain a passport for the child with one of the parents naturalization certificate, birth certificate of the child, and child's green card. I don't remember, but I think the birth certificate has to be in English or translated to English with certified translation, however details are in the passport DS form and the passport agent my be able to tell you the exact documentary needs.
The only procedure you might choose for a child who has become a citizen under the child citizenship act of 2000 is to obtain a certificate of citizenship with form N-600. This is costly, but for some is worth the money to have an additional proof of citizenship in case the passport might get lost.
