US- Canada -US Trip on H1

Hi,
I just came to US like 2 months back, I have a valid H1B visa and a valid I-94. Am planning a trip to canada to visit my relatives in December last week.
Can you tell me the entire process to follow. Also i am bit confused about the I-94, whether they will take my I-94 and issue a new one or whether no one will touch my 1-94 as it is a valid one and also since it is going to be a very short trip.

So i need to tell anyone about the I-94 while leaving US or while re entering US. What should i say if they ask me to hand over my I-94, Should i give the same to them or not..?

Thanks, Awaiting for the answers as i need to start with the formalities. Please guide..

Get the cdn visa first, your I-94 concerns come later. Your concern falls into the "non-issue" category. You can keep the same I-94 or surrender (and get the new one upon entry back into the US). But if your visit to Canada is less than 30 days, I would keep the current I-94 if it is valid.
