Somebody must have had a good dream before putting these numbers. Well if it indeed comes true for sure. Then BUSH will get lots of credit.

At least for NSC it is not true.EB-485 processing time is Feb 1, 2002. Although some Oct. filers were approved, a lot of Apr. filers are not approved. I know that from my friend who told me that he and his frieds are not approved(filed in Apr.)

USCIS has been lying.

This is nothing to get excited about.

A significant increase will occur in the amount of cases that will get transfered to the local offices for interviews in order to meet this plan. This is very bad news. I have no proof, just my personal observation of what has already started to occur.

The backlog will begin to grow at the local offices and in a few months the total wait time (sevice center wait time + local office wait time) will still be the same as it is today at the service center alone. In the end there will be no advantage to the typical I-485 applicant, actually there will only be more disadvantages, since cases cannot be tracked at the local offices, and the backlog at the local office will become invisible. Its a great move by USCIS to "hide" thier backlog. They will not really solve the problem, they will just move it to a different area.

bad bad bad

Then we need to do something about it. Campaign, lawsuit or whatever. People who get transferred to local office should keep writing letters to their senators. It might not help your own case, but many people keep doing it will help.
We can't stop fighting, unless CIS's service get "truly" improved.
