Urgent advice would be greatly appreciated

My best friend was doing her masters here but due to personal problems she could not graduate and the university terminated her I20. But she left the US only after 25 days of the I20 expiring. Now she is seriously contemplating of getting re-instated and coming back. Her student visa is valid till 2007.

a) Will she have problems while entering the country? (assuming she gets reinstated)

b) If she applies for a visa after 2007 will it affect her prospects of getting one?

This is an urgent issue & I would greatly appreciate any advice in this regard.

Reinstatements are done by the USCIS in America. Are you saying she wants to apply for reinstatement by mail? If by reinstatement you mean simply being re-admitted to the school, well, I don't know if that would work. Contact the USCIS directly to find out.

I don't know how this will affect future visa issuances. It was an overstay, but not long enough to trigger automatic bans. You should probably ask this of the USCIS as well.
