Our passports have been stamped for the US Immigration but we have not yet received the green cards in the mail. We want to migrate to Canada and have been approved as independent immigrants. Should we leave before we receive green cards or after? We will have to come back to the US for sometime too. Please help!

does not matter.

you will have to be careful and must be really able to convince
Canadian Imm, that you are landing.

YOU CAN EXPECT GREEN CARD IN 6 MONTHS ,THE STAMP IN YOUR PASSPORT ALSO SERVES AS GREEN CARD
We want to migrate to Canada and have been approved as independent immigrants.
ONCE YOU HAVE BEEN STAMPED AS PERMANENT RESIDENT OF US YOU CAN LEAVE OR ENTER US ANY TIME, YOUR ACTUAL US GREEN CARD WILL BE MAILED TO YOUR CURRENT US ADDRESS.
Should we leave before we receive green cards or after?
NO BODY CAN ANSWER THIS IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, CANADA WILL NOT STOP YOU LANDING IF YOU HAVE GOT CANADA LANDING PAPERS, IT IS YOUR WISH WHEN YOU SHOLD LAND IN CANADA BUT LAND BEFORE THE EXPIRY DATE OF VISA ANY TIME.
We will have to come back to the US for sometime too. Please help!
YOU CAN COME WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? BUT SOME TIME IN FUTURE YOU HAVE TO ABONDON GC OF US OR PR OF CANADA YOU CAN NOT MAINTAIN BOTH...

I agree with Inder99...

I think if you are landing , it will be better if you really
hit the border post with all your belongings , car etc. do not
go there with just a carry on..that will raise suspicions if
you really want to land. check misc.immigration.canada for
"could not land- what an experience" for someone with a
similar situation.
Yes, it does not matter if you hold Can PR to US INS for green
card processing, it should not matter to Canadians as well.
