Hello,
I am currently on my H1B. I work remotely from home.My company allows me to work for 30 calendar days from certain international locations that has tax treaties with. I am planning to work from India for 20 business days and take similar time off and come back to US after 1.5 months. While I am in India, I am also planning to get my H1B Visa stamped (already have a valid visa, but just have under your left on it)
My question is if at port of entry, the CBP officer asks if I worked from India, what should we answer? We must have come across hear-say stories where mentioning working from outside of the US had led to CBP denying entry or even revoking Visa.
I have all the approvals needed for me to work from India from my manager to c-suite. I have approved leave from my company as well. I do not want to necessarily lie to CBP if the explicitly ask were also confused about the outcome if I honestly answer the question.
