Hello:
My mother's visitor visa application got rejected under section 214 (b). She is 58 years old and she is a widow. She had to attend personal interview at consulate, and at the end of 30 second interview they rejected the application. I am planning to reapply with couple of addition documents. Please answer my question if you had past experience in this area ??

1) Can she send the reapplication by mail/dropbox ?? (Does she need to attend personal interview again ).

2) do I need to send 4900/- DD again ??

Any answers in this regard will be appreciated.

So sad to know u r mothers visa got rejected. Whch consulate was it ? I guess it must be Mumbai Consulate !

I have been thru same experience , and I can feel u r pains.

Since her application was denied once, she WILL BE CERTAINLY called for interview for the second attempt. i.e. there is no "DropBox" for second attempt after first rejection.

You will have to re-pay for "visa processing" fees again. (not sure how much is the amount ) .

Hope this helps.

This happened with my Mom even. Just that her clause was different 221(g).
If you send some more additional documents your mother can go for second interview after 3 days of her first interview and does not need to pay application fee again.
my mother applied after 3 days as told by the embassy official.

you even do not need to take another appointment.

I have seen in multiple places that people do not write abotu wife's pregnancy and deliver as a reason for bringing her mother. Can anyone explain?

Thanks
