Good day. My wife is an American citizen, I am a Canadian citizen. We were Married last March 2004. Our I 130 case was approved on July 22 2004. We just recently set off all the final documents to the National Visa Centre. My understanding is once they are happy that all the paperwork is correct, they will coordinate an Interview in Montreal Canada, and will then get my perm residency card.

My question is, am I still able to travel to USA while this process is going on? I am in the Canadain Armed Forces, so I still have ties to Canada, so they shouldnt be worried about me staying down in the USA. I usually travel once a month to see my wife in the USA.

Thanks in advance.

Has no one had any experiences similar to this?

I would like to ask the same question. I am moving back to the US but my wife's i130 has only been recently approved. As she will have to be away for at least several months, we want to travel to the US in December to look at apartments. When I ring the US Embassy in London I get conflicting advice about whether she will be allowed entry into the country. They also suggest that if she is denied entry it will make her application take an extra two months.

Has anyone every traveled to the US while awaiting their green card?

visiting USA

Well I guess my situation is different as I am Canadian, and at this time stil hold residence here in Canada. I was just worried that they may not allow me to enter while my 130 process is still in action. I have never had a problem, and didnt really worry about it until I started visiting these immigration forums!! But in my instance, I was always only visiting for a short time and had proof that I was going to return!!! So they have never given me any troubles!! As long as you have proof that you will be returning to London I wouldnt think it would be a problem. But its up to the immigration guy at the counter from my understanding. As of now Im just waiting for my interview in Montreal!! It should be in Dec. or Jan!! For me, thinking common sense, its a no brainer that I would be returning to Canada, because I need to go back for the interview!! Just as in your case, you have to return to London!! Bit when does the govt (including Canada's) think common sense!! lol Best of luck
