Good day. My wife is an American citizen, I am a Canadian citizen. We were Married last March 2004. Our I 130 case was approved on July 22 2004. We just recently set off all the final documents to the National Visa Centre. My understanding is once they are happy that all the paperwork is correct, they will coordinate an Interview in Montreal Canada, and will then het my perm residency card.

My question is, am I still able to travel to USA while this process is going on? I am in the Canadain Armed Forces, so I still have ties to Canada, so they shouldnt be worried about me staying down in the USA. I usually travel once a month to see my wife in the USA.

Thanks in advance.

There is no problem if you are visiting for <6 months. At the moment you are, technically, not a US perm. resident. The US GC will allow you to work in the US free of immigration hassles.

Thanks!!

Our lawyer just mailed off our final packet. Hopefully it will get looked at soon and the interview appt made in Montreal soon!! Before Xmas would be great!! Most likely in Jan i was told!! Hopefully soon, as I will be unemployed as of Dec 17!! lol Cant wait for this long dist stuff to end!! Guess can't complain. In nearly 3 yrs, longest we have gone without seeing each other is 6 weeks!! Visa and Master card love us! as do the Airlines!! thanks
