Urgent Travel Question

Currently I am in H1b for 3 yr extension. But I do not have the current visa stamping. At the same time, I have AP, EAD even though I am not using the EAD.
I need to travel to India. is it possible to use AP for coming back to U.S or do I need to get the visa stamped ?
I heard that there seems to be lot f work and hassle to get the visa stamp like appointment etc..,

If anybody has been in this situation, Please let me know whether is it possible to use AP for travel while working on h1b visa??

I think you're good to travel on AP even without H1B stamped.
Since you have a lawyer, just call him/her up and get a confirmation.
My 485 is pending and I'm on H1 and my stamping expired (but have a current I-94, of course). I applied for AP and will use that for travel and not bother with H1B stamping.
My lawyer told me that this is ok.
