Urgent - Transfering priority dates, please help !

Folks,

I have an approved I-140 in EB2 category from employer A (priority date Dec 1999). I filed I140/485 concurrently in July 2003 in EB2 category with employer B (this was done after approval of a fresh labor from employer B). My I140 got approved in 2004 (priority date on that is June 2001) but I485 is still pending. For some reason the lawyer of company B screwed up and didn't preserve my priority date of Dec 1999. Is there a way to get that back or transfer it?? If I can do that, it'll be really helpful in a view of this stupid retrogression.

Yes, you are eligible to carry/transfer/port your earlier PD.

If I were you:
1. write a letter to request earlier PD, along with the earlier 140 approval notice.
2. If USCIS don't chang in 2-4 weeks---follow up by phone or offical inquirey-----refile 485----if they don't allow you to file for Dec99 PD, then you wait until your PD becomes current, but you do need to refile to have your 485 approved earlier--------with a cover letter to explain you have earlier PD.
