I am currently on H1B and my last day with my company is 07/19/02 as I am being laid off.
My questions are:
1) Should I change to H4 as my wife is on a H1B ASAP and when I find a new employer will my new H1B be:
a) H1B transfer based on portability rules?
b) H1B issued without an I-94 or a new H1B?
If scenario B can I work for my new employer as soon as I apply for my H1B or will have to wait till INS approves my H1B.
2) Should I just be on my current H1B, while I find a new employer? My current H1B is valid till OCT 2003?
