Hello All-

I have an urgent question for getting an EAD from local INS center. In my interesting situation, my EAD application was Xfered to local INS office (Arlington, VA) along with I-485 application.

I had applied to VSC and its going to be 90 days in Aug 31. Since my current EAD has expired, My employer is already creating a "situation" as I do not have "current" authorization to work.

Now I am planning to go to local INS office to get an EAD. Do you think the local INS office will look favorably to my case since my current EAD has expired and my new application has been Xfered to them?

Please help...Any view / comment will be greatly appreciated.

The good news is you will be in status even if your EAD expired.

But, working without EAD is a grey area. I have heard different
theories. Local INSs have different policies. If they don\'t issue
a new EAD immediately, you should consult a lawyer.

I would wait for EAD approval in about 1 or 2 days and am planning to visit the local INS office and find out the things myself. I do have a lawyer but I have not found him to be very useful as all he is suggesting me is to wait. He is not even aware of 90 day rule about getting the EAD.

 One of my friend walked to nearby INS and got the EAD on the same day itself. Probably you can try the same. Go and talk to local INS to find the status as well as getting them renewed the same day if possible.
