Urgent---RFE for I140

Gurus,
I have a question. I got an RFE for I140 and asking me to submit documents by may 23, 2005. There might by some problems in getting documents around that time. It is possible to get some extension to submit the documents.

Is there a way to buy some extra time to get the documents without affecting the I-140?.
