Hello everyone,
I'm currently on my OPT and due to the flat job market haven't had any luck in finding a job yet. I had a medical emergency recently and had to be admitted to a hospital. Unfortunately, my medical insurance had expired about a fortnight prior to this event . Now, I'm faced with paying about 4K for my medical bills. I am not in a position to pay that amount and have been advised by the hospital authorities to apply for Federal Aid since I fall well below the current poverty line.
My biggest concern is whether opting to go for Federal Aid will in any way hamper my chances of applying/obtaining a Green Card at some point in the future
. I have until the end of this week to file for the Federal Aid if I decide to go with that option. I would really appreciate any help/advice in this matter.
