Got the approval after a long and painful wait today , BUT with a hitch.
Had one question reg same:
1) The officer at the local office said that the computer systems are not "connecting" with the "mainframe" and so the system still shows myself as being on H1B.
2) She also said that she has sent a "manual request" to "update the system" however it will take time for the officers to update the system.
3) I also have the following
(a) Original I 797C receipt notice on hand
(b) Passport Stamping for GC (I-551)
4) I am planning on travelling to Canada this month-end.
My question is, if the plastic card does not arrive on time, will I be allowed to re-enter USA? I can show the officer my ****original**** I-485 approval notice and the stamp in the passport, however, when he cross checks, it is going to show as H1B.
What do I do?
Secondly, how long does it take to get a plastic card, given thet I ordered it today?
I would appreciate a response from someone who knows more than I do...
