Urgent question: passport not stamped

I went 200 miles one way to CIS office with email and printout screen,
the officer told me that "we cannot prove if this case was appproved or not as we have no info of approval?"

does this mean not appproved or error!

they need approval notice to stamp passport. You can go after you receive your original approval notice or copy o approval notice. not just e-mail or screen. :)
