Urgent: Problem with regional labor

Hello Guys,

I am currently working for a company in seattle.
My company doesn't give out the case# for the labor, since they are paying for the GC process.
According to the lawyers, my case went to Regional DOL in Jan 2004 as per the letter which they recieved from state DOL.
But the lawyers's haven't received any letters from the regional DOL for the receipt of the labor from state and the case#.

Now seattle regional has started working on March 2004 cases and my case is still pending.
Last week I called the state labor agency and was able to talk to a person. He mentioned that my case was transferred to Regional in Oct 2003 and not in Jan 2004.
Now I am confused as the dates are different according to the lawyer and the officer in state labor agency.

To make matters worse, I checked the telephone retreival system for the regional labor thru my employers phone number. And there is a case which was forwarded to Regional DOL in Nov2003 and for which NOF was issued in July 2004.

I talked to the company lawyers and they are saying that it can't be my case and that if indeed a NOF would be issued for my case. They will recieve a letter from DOL.

Is it normal for the regional DOL to not send out receipt letters?

I have 14 months left on my H1B. So I want to be sure that if indeed there has been some miscommunication on my case, then I will have to leave the company and start my GC process all over again.

Any advise on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

May be NOF is lost in the post. Why dont you talk to somebody in Federal DOL and find out what is going on.
Eventhough, your company pays for GC, i guess you have all rights to talk to your HR and find out what is the deal......

Thanks for the reply.
I did talk to the HR person in my company. She said that she has talked to the lawyers and they are saying that everything is fine and that I shouldn't have called the state labor department.

How do I call somebody in federal labor. will they entertain my call?

Thanks
