Folks:

I have an urgent question to pose at you.. One of my friends has his I485
pending and he has his EAD and AP.

His company is sending him to India for a two week long trip and they have
gotten him a ticket thru Lufthansa.

Does he need a visa at Frankfurt while coming back to the US from India as
he is on Advance Parole?

Has anyone travelled via Frankfurt with AP and successfully came back to the US? Please share your experience.

Please let me know as early as you can as his flight is <24 hours away
from boarding.

Appreciate your response/help.

Regards

He needs airport transit visa if he does not have valid visa stamped in his passport (the airport personnel will not treat AP as equal to a US VISA) if he is travelling through Frankfurt.

Travel via Frankfurt to India on AP

Yes, You can come back to US safely with your AP (via Frankfurt)...

I did that no problems at all.....

Even I am on EAD and used AP to travel (I-485 pending)

Have a wonderful trip.....

he should have a visa, but sometimes they don't check for it. but if he/she wants to have peacful mind, it is better to get visa before leaving. but without visa also sometimes it is ok.

No transit visa required as i came back last week through Lufthansa airlines without any problems. I used Advance Parole and checked the german consulate before leaving and they told its not required.

I spoke to the German Consulate yesterday and today they sent me an email saying that the Transit Visa is not needed.
