Urgent Please help. Birth Cert question.

With the current visa number availability am trying to file for parallel 140/485.

I have the official birth certificate, but it only has my First Name and my fathers first name mentioned on it. It does not have either my Mothers name or our last name. :(

Will this cause trouble while filing 485. Would they reject the application on that bases....

I have been trying to get another full version copy from my birth country, but the authorities there are not co-operating... Accordingly this is the only form they can provide.. Please please.. guru's.. Please advice.

I don't know which country/state you are from. It was not easy for me either. I am from India - state of Andhra Pradesh. They gave big trouble to my parents...anyways long story short I finally got the official BC but it did not have my name in it. It has all other details (like hospital name, father's name, date etc...and also it was registered within 5 days of my birth). It got registered when the hospital registered the birth with the right department...it did not have my name because my name was given after the discharge from hospital and my parents did not get it registered. Those days it is not common.

My guess is - samething will happen to you what happened to me. They will issue a RFE for Birth/Parentage details later. They just don't reject your application :) Don't worry. They will ask for secondary evidence apart from a notarized Affidavit from your parents. It will be something like - hospital records or baptization records or voters list or early school records etc. That should have everybody's names (meaning names of people in the whole town including your name, parents' full names, names of your kids who are not yet born at that time etc). Sorry I was just venting out ...anyways I got my GC after a long wait.

Well, when you say an affidavit... what is it, and what would be the format if I want to get one from my parents. Just to be ready. And also, issuing an RFE... doesn't that delay the process. I have already waited for more then 7 years now....

I tried to look around but couldn't locate a template for Affidavit that I obtained for birth details. Sorry. If anyone else has it please pass it on to nkimmigration.
What I was saying is - USCIS doesn't care much about the affidavits. They ask for other pieces of vidence like the ones I had mentioned before.
