Urgent!! Please help. AP queston

Hi all,
INS issued me an AP renewal on last week, but my A# in the AP is missing the last digit.(other digits are fine). A# column has my receipt number and that is fine also. I need to travel urgently to India and have tickets reserved for November 1st week.
All my other documents like EAD, receipts, old AP all have correct A#. So will there be any problems if I travel with this new AP? I called INS and they said they will issue a new one, but don't know when especially when TSC is the service center.

Suggestions/Advices???Pls help
 
In my openion, this is not a big issue. This is what I would do :
1. Note down date and time of the call to INS (when you reported this)
2. Send a certified letter to INS informing the same. Carry a copy and USPS cert. receipt.
3. Carry receipt of your I-131 app.
4. Carry receipt of I-485
5. Carry EAD card
6. Carry old AP

Item 3 to 6 all have A#. At POE, explain (and show all these docs.) to the officer.

Of course, You will have to talk to a lawyer before travelling. Your lawyer will give you right advice.

My lawyer says it might not have been a problem at all (since other documents have correct A#). But since I have called INS and they warranted a new AP, she doubt it may cause problem

If you didn't call INS about the error then it might not have been a problem at all! At port of entry while returning I doubt if the officer notices such a mistake and even if (s)he does then since it is due to INS mistake there is noting to worry.

Now since you reported the problem to INS and they waranted a new AP I think it may become a problem as your attorney suggested. If I were you, I will go to local INS (go stand in the line early in the morning) with old & new APs, Airline tickets etc. and see if they can correct the mistake explaining that you have to travel soon. Explaining them that canceling tickets will cost you too much etc. they may consider doing somehting about it. Or ask them if you can travel with with that document. Based on the results make decision.
