My case was a mess from the beginning. This is partly becasuse of my ignorance and lawyers inability to let me know certain things.
Bottom line is:
Initially my 140 approved for AOS even though I have chosen for CP.
Then after I complained that my attorney got that reapproved for CP, Chennai (becasue my permanent address in India is from AP on passport). If I am aware that I could choose the consulate then I would have chosen Mumbai. As I was worked in Mumbai for more than a year and my H1 stamps (2 visas) are from my mumbai. It is not hard for me to prove my address currently in Mumbai.
But the thing is that now my file is not going to NVC and my attorney also help less as INS doesnot give information to him. And I am worried that it might take more than 5 or 6 months finally go to COnsulate Interview.
I want to know can I go for AC140 process at Mumabi by filing I-824. What problems I might face in this? My second and latest 140 shows Chennai for Consular processing. Can I file I-824 and after I get receipt can I go for AC140 at mumbai. What proof should I carry when I go for Interview if at all my attorney agrees to do that.
Please help me. I am really worried that I might loose job if this thing goes on and it seems my file would never reach NVC and after that new process might take 5 months. Please help some one.
