Urgent! Please advise

Hi,
I was arrested for theft of service once, and I did community service for a day. I was told the case will be cancelled after 6 month. I checked \'no\' to the question "have you ever been arrested.." on the 485 form already. How will this affect my case? Am I going to be rejected because I lied?

You are better off repying "Yes" to the question and then mentioning the upcoming cancell

...Just to keep things in perspective, hopefully INS would be keen on nabbing big-time criminals such as terrorists, smuggleers, etc. However, lying under oath is perjury - that is a serious offense. See if you can amend your 485 application.

My attorney is going to amend the case mentioning this incident. I asked her about the chance to get rejected. She said she doesn\'t know she has to do some research on the maximum sentence on this act. Gurus, do you know if this is going to affect my green card application?

I have called them twice on a different issue and they gave me logical and helpful answers. Otherwise, consult an independent attorney

It is misdemeanor. I am going to ament the case, do you think it is going to affect my case since I answered wrong the first time.

Explain how it really happened - that you did not understand the question fully and assumed that since you were not convicted you do not have to reveal this incident. After being and doing some reading on this board, you realized that you need to reveal it. So you contacted a lawyer to fix it.

I was arrested for public intoxication. But the case was dismissed because they mis-spelt my name on the citation. I am filing for AOS next week, this happened in a municipal court. Do I have to say \'yes\' for the arrest question on 485, if so how would it affect my 485.
