Urgent-Passport number correction on TTS web appointment

There is no way you can change any information once you get an appointment date & time through TTS. Only way is you have to cancel the appointment and reschedule it which you have to pick the next available date.
I had a similar problem with my in-laws appointment and as per TTS, I cancelled their appointment and got a different date.
Whatever information you enter during appointment would appear on the Visa, so you act accordingly.
My parents did appear for the interview as scheduled and got their visa. All they had to do was point out the correction in the passport number to the consular staff and they will take care of it. If you have enough time, then you can cancel your appointment and reenter the correct information to get a new appointment.
