URGENT! Our last chance for any EB relief in 2006 ! Time to act.

IV needs your help to call lawmakers to help push for our EB provisions in the current lame duck session.
As some of you might have noticed, Sen Cornyn has reintroduced this week a version of SKIL Bill previously passed in the the senate. IV would urge you to immediately contact your senators and urge them to support and pass Senator's Cornyn's Bill. IV would urge you to do this as soon as possible to ensure the support of the senators of your state to get this bill passed. We are currently writing the instructions on what you need to say when you call.

We are posting the phone numbers and other details soon in this thread. Pls. spread the word and get ready.

We are posting talking points for you shortly. Remember your phone conversation has to be focussed on Employment based greencards only. The bill is not yet on Thomas but IV is privy to that information. Some very favorable provisions for us are being pushed. These provisions will help cut down retrogression significantly. Thus it is important for us to participate in this effort. This is the last chance we have before the year ends. Otherwise we wll have to wait for next year. Now numbers will matter. More people calling will mean more support and lawmakers discussing our provisions in DC will not back out.

Please call your senators and House of representative and tell them to support senator Cronyn. We are high tech hard working skilled immigrants and our life is in limbo because of retrogression. We are living in US legally, paying our taxes and are law abiding people. We need your help to improve our quality of life. We are requesting you to please provide the EB relief before the end of this year.

Pls. call up all your friends, email your friends to come on the IV site soon so that everyone can participate and help give the final push we need at grassroots level.

all please send this message out to all other forums, immportal, immihelp, murthy,path2usa, immlaw etc etc whatever you know and urge people to help in this effort. we are going to ask everyone to call the lawmakers and also send webfaxes. It will now be based on number of people that will call to each and every lawmaker office listed below and express their support for the bill for us.

This relief is for the law abiding legal immigrants to this country that have been waiting in line for several years patiently to get their Employment based greencards. Tell that you are highly educated and highly skilled professionals contributing to US innovation, competitiveness and pay all the taxes. Even then you are subjected to such delays. Such delays affect your personal and professional lives. The bill will provide much needed relief to you by improving your quality of life and will also help this country stay competitive in the global market.

Things to DO:

2. Provide some relief to EB retrogression.
3. Tell your Friends to do the same

I think SKIL Bill will pass more due to senators being unaware of it rather than the other way round. The issues are out there already and it may be impossible to change senators views. We may rub them on the wrong side. What do u think?

You're wrong. They're are more than aware of it. Numbers USA has started the drive where all their members call calling Senators as well as Representatives.

We usually lose out due to apathy and laziness. Just call the senators from your state and say you'd like Senators So and so to support High-Skilled Immigrant Interim Relief Act of 2006. Simple. Takes less than a minute. Then email/call your friends to do the same.

It's unbelievable how many people are actually too lazy to do this much (not pointing fingers at anybody here, speaking only in general terms). We lost out last time because people just don't understand the importance of contacting congressmen and how much it can actually influence. 10 calls from immigration opponents and 1 from supporters usually makes up the mind of an undecided senator.
